To start a poker game, players must place an ante, which is usually a small bet. This is typically $1 or $5. After the ante is placed, the dealer deals two cards to each player.<\/p>\n
The first round of betting will be done clockwise. The player to the left of the dealer has the small blind. He must post a small bet, and the first person to the right must post a big bet. Each player must “call” the bet or raise their bet if they wish to remain in the hand.<\/p>\n
The player to the left of the dealer will have the first choice to bet, and the next person in line will have the second choice. In this case, the second player will have to either “raise” or “check” their bet.<\/p>\n
